This website is the result of a growing concern within the nanotoxicology community that poor and inadequate nanomaterial characterization is preventing the generation and publication of robust data that can be used to understand and address the potential toxicity of emerging nanomaterials.

It’s primary aim is to raise awareness, foster support for a minimum set of physical and chemical characterization data in nanotoxicology studies, and help build a culture of effective material characterization within the research and testing community.

As a community initiative, it complements the efforts of other organizations working in this field.
